The quote that passed
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience comes from bad judgment.
Said by Will Rogers, or so they say
Let's get one thing straight: every wise old bastard you've ever admired got there by fucking up. Nobody shows up with good judgment. You buy it, and you pay in hangovers, exes, dumb tattoos and that one investment you still won't talk about. Wisdom is just scar tissue that learned to talk.
The problem isn't bad decisions. The problem is the same bad decision on repeat, like a drunk who keeps texting his ex hoping it'll go better this time. A new mistake is tuition. The same old mistake is you lighting money on fire and calling it education. Make fresh fucking mistakes, you beautiful disaster. Stop running reruns.
And the cowards who never make a bad call? They never make any call. They sit on the fence so long it leaves splinters in their soul, then they die "safe," with nothing to say at their own funeral. I'd rather have a story that starts with "so, that was a terrible idea" than a life that starts and ends with "maybe next year." Fuck maybe next year.
Your move
So here's the plan. Tonight, write down your 3 worst decisions and next to each one, the lesson it cost you. Circle any mistake you've made more than once, because that's the one that gets killed this month. Then pick 1 scary, maybe-stupid decision you've been dodging and make it before Friday. If it blows up, good. Write that one down too.
